We are all now aware of environmental impact and Allen & Young want to make the green choice in all aspects of our operations.
There is increasing scientific evidence that global warming has already begun, and at a more local level landfills are rapidly running out of space. Add to this the surge in government and EU legislation over the last few years and all reputable companies now accept they must deliver environmentally friendly solutions when offering their services.
In addition to the obvious benefits to our world there can also be significant business benefits derived from an effective green policy. In any case, we simply feel that it is the right thing to do.
Environmental Policy Statement
Allen & Young Ltd are committed to constantly reviewing and reducing the consequences to the environment of our operations. We take all necessary action to fully comply with current legislation, directives and standards. Our principal aim is to minimise and where possible eliminate our impact on the environment completely by inward investment and adopting best practise in all areas of our business.
In Practice this means:
Training - We provide information and training to all our team members on reducing our environmental impact at regular intervals. This training is recorded as part of our company compliance.
Packaging - Our policy is to choose reusable protection in the first instance to reduce waste. We will then collect your packaging after you have finished with it if the environmental impact warrants this. This will then be reused or where this is not possible recycled.
Fleet - Our fleet is regularly checked and serviced, our schedules are planned, our drivers are trained in economic driving and provided with satellite navigation to reduce fuel usage and carbon emissions. We plan to introduce the most environmentally friendly vehicles as our fleet is replaced.
Office - We always take care to firstly reduce, then reuse and finally recycle in every instance in the course of our operations.
Clearance - We will always try to reuse and recycle unwanted household items in the course of our clearance operations. See a list of the charities we support on our clearance page.
